Funeral service for Willie Newberne age 88 of 909 Academy St, Wilson who died Saturday, March 13 will be held Saturday at 1 pm at St. Rose Church of Christ Disciples of Christ 605 S.Douglas St, Wilson. General Vice Bishop Malcolm Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery (Veterans Section).
Mr. Newberne was a professional barber at Artis Barber Shop. He worked for fifty-five years as a barber. He was a faithful member of St. Rose Church of Christ Disciples of Christ for fifty years where he served as an usher.
A viewing will be held Friday from 2 pm to 8:30 pm at Carrons Funeral Home with the family receiving friends there from 7 pm to 8 pm. They will receive friends at all other times at the residence and will assemble there one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
