Mr. Winslow Australian Lucas, age 61, of 908 Jordan Street, Wilson was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, June 10, 2020. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 1 pm at the L.N. Forbes Original Free Will Baptist Tabernacle, 1800 Lane Street Ext., Wilson. Elder Douglas Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery Veterans Section.
Loving and lasting memories will always be cherished by his daughter, Tawanna Barnes of the home; his two sons, Winslow Lucas, Jr. of Raleigh, NC and Antwan Woodard of Pennsylvania; his mother, Hazel Lucas Bell of Wilson, NC; ten sisters, Cornelia Wilkins and JoAnn Bell of Wilson, NC, Michelle Gambles (Jackie) of Spartanburg, SC, Lisa Hill of Charlotte, NC, Glenda Armstrong of Winston Salem, NC, Patricia Whitley and Wanda Whitley of Goldsboro, NC, Gloria Winbush (Gary) of Fayetteville, NC, Willie Mae Bynum Myles of Wilson, NC and Joyce Best Clyburn of Newport News, VA; six brothers, Theodore Lucas (Triwanda), Amos Bell (Cynthia), Elder Douglas Bell (Tasha), Gregory Bell, and John E. Ruffin (Virginia) all of Wilson, NC, and James R. Newsome of Forestville, MD; three aunts, Cleo Leveston, and Annie Doris Lucas of Wilson, NC and Betty Black of Washington, DC; one uncle, Bishop Herbert Best; three grandchildren, Taja Johnson, and Thaddaeus Williams of Wilson, NC and Willie Lucas of Raleigh, NC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Greg Willingham of Wilson, NC and Ruth Jones of Wilson, NC.
A public viewing will be held Friday, June 19, 2020 from 3 pm to 6 pm at Carrons Funeral Home, 726 South Tarboro Street, Wilson. The family will assemble at the residence of his mother, Ms. Hazel Bell 910 Aycock St., Wilson one hour prior to service in preparation for the funeral procession.
