Yvonne Newsome King, 78, of 1638 Tommy’s Road, was called to eternal rest on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016. A celebration of her life and work will be held at noon Saturday at Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly, 214 W. Hooks River Road, Goldsboro. The Rev. Robert D. Hood will officiate. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park, Goldsboro, NC.
Loving and lasting memories are cherished by her devoted husband, Arthur Lee King, of the home; two sons, Jerome King of Bloomington, Ilinois, and Anthony Williams of New York; two sisters, Mattie N. Wright and Willie N. Artis (Preston), all of Wilson; one uncle, Gurnie Newsome, of Richmond, Virginia; a special niece who was like a daughter, Linda Ellis, of Wilson; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other special nieces, special nephews, other relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. Friday at Carrons Funeral Home, 325 E. Nash St., Wilson, and Saturday from 10 -11:45 a.m. at the Goldsboro-Raleigh District Assembly. The family will receive friends at the residence and will assemble there at 11 a.m. Saturday in preparation for the funeral procession.
